Programme Excellence Officer

At Sizewell B Power Station, we’re working on securing safe, sustainable, low carbon energy for the UK until at least 2055 with the continued safe generation of our station. The Opportunity

 

The Programme Excellence Officer is a crucial role within the organisation. We’re looking for a leader who is ready to come in and make an immediate impact; if you’re enthusiastic about delivery and ready to collaborate, innovate and challenge the norm then you might just be our next team member! We’re looking for someone who will be confident to deliver projects, actively driving new ways of working and advocating support for our investment mission.

 

You will own the SIDO delivery model and develop strategies to ensure the organisation is delivering excellence and evolves to meet the changing programme needs. You’ll be a subject matter expert in programme excellence, responsible for monitoring all dimensions of SIDO and working with stakeholders both within EDF UK and internationally, including EDF France, to learn best practise and use this strong network to deliver innovation to Sizewell B. 

 

Pay, benefits and culture

 

The salary range associated with this role is between £84,892 - £109,077 however the starting salary for this appointment will be within the range of £84,892 - £98,004. What you’ll be doing

 

The requirements for this role fall into three main categories:

 

Leadership: Owning the SIDO delivery model, backpack and handbook with accountability for setting clear expectations and developing strategies to ensure they are relevant. Identifying efficiencies and continual improvements.

 

Corporate Governance Compliance: Monitoring compliance of the programme with corporate governance and conducting assurance reviews and audits, highlighting non-compliances and working with the delivery teams to successfully implement corrective action plans. Participation in project reviews committees is also key.

 

Programme Excellence: Monitoring the key performance indicators and other programme data, identifying performance issues and trends which could adversely impact delivery of the stated outcomes and benefits. Monitoring onboarding, inductions and corporate/competence training and implementing corrective actions or improvement plans.

 

Who you are

 

We’re looking for you to be a subject matter expert in Programme Excellence with the ability to apply industry best practice. You’ll need experience addressing Programme and/or Project issues with a comprehensive understanding of governance and oversight principles required to successfully deliver the works. You should be an effective communicator at all levels and able to foster relationships, gain respect, demonstrate credibility and influence decisions. The ability to successfully challenge at a senior level is also paramount.

 

You’ll need to have at least a Level 4 qualification (HNC or equivalent) and it would be advantageous if you’re educated to degree level or equivalent and preferably a Chartered member of a relevant professional institution. You should be values driven with a straightforward management style and approach. Demonstrable experience of Microsoft Office IT packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and industry planning tools is paramount.

 

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
