We’re currently recruiting for an Outage Planning Coordinator at Sizewell B Power Station. We can offer a competitive salary from £47,764 - £75,050 with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. Closing date for applications is 2nd December 2021.

The Opportunity

As Outage Planning Coordinator you’ll support a team accountable for the Outage Plan within Primavera and ensuring that the work is delivered safely to satisfy the station’s business targets. You will be required to interact with multiple stakeholders both internal and external to the station to ensure the Outage Plan is accurate, optimised, challenging but achievable.

You will be using your strong oral and written communication skills throughout your day to day role. You will need a calm and measured approach to work, with the ability to prioritise workloads and identify the most appropriate solution when faced with conflicting demands. You will have a consistent and thorough attention to detail as well as demonstrating discretion when handling sensitive information.

The Role

Your main responsibility is to support the Outage Lead Planners and Outage Coordinator on the production of clear, concise plans that are within the Business Plan and to Budget. As the Station Specialist on Primavera, you will need to ensure standards and expectations are maintained within the software for all outage interfaces. You will assist with the preparation of Primavera reports and support its continuous improvement.

As Outage Planning Coordinator you may be required to attend and chair outage related meetings as well as consistently provide and perform schedule management and advice. You will be providing support to the maintenance and development of the Master Outage Plan. You will also be required to deputise for the Outage Group Head as required for which your leadership skills will be extremely beneficial.

Your experience working with Primavera/P6 will be key to your success in this role. In addition, familiarity with pressurised water reactors and a general understanding of nuclear systems would be a distinct advantage.

The Skills

As a minimum, applicants will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent). A degree in a relevant subject may be advantageous.

You should ideally have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of a PWR nuclear power plant
  • Experience in the areas of operations, maintenance, safety cases and engineering
  • Expert knowledge in Primavera
  • Enthusiasm, drive, ownership and the ability to facilitate change
