The Opportunity  

 

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to become the Sizewell C  Offsite Infrastructure Security Operations Lead.

 

 In this dynamic role, you will take charge of designing and implementing risk-proportionate, cost-effective security solutions for the SZC Project's Off-Site Infrastructure (OSI) programme. These solutions must align with commercial risk management and regulatory security requirements, where applicable.


 Your responsibilities will include fostering a strong security culture within the project, mitigating adversarial risks in OSI construction areas, and safeguarding the project, its people, property, and information throughout its lifecycle. You will also oversee the movement and storage o assets under the equipment programme, both within the UK and, if necessary, overseas. As a key member of the  Client Project Team, you will be based within Site Operations and report to the  Site Security Operations Manager.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

 

The Role

 

The key challenges are the rapid pace at which the OSI sites become operational and the evolving nature of the construction programmes at each location.


Key Responsibilities:
       

       Oversee, support, and facilitate construction activities across the OSI.
       Design and implement security measures for the OSI, ensuring risks are managed proportionately.
       Coordinate the deployment of security resources to ensure the safety of personnel and create site-specific security plans for each Offsite Infrastructure location.
       Represent the department in all design iterations to integrate security from the outset, utilizing strategies such as Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and ensuring access points and locations are safe for security operations at all Offsite             Infrastructure sites.
       Supervise contractor partners to ensure the security infrastructure is maintained and performs as expected.
       Serve as the department's point of contact for all police-related relationships and communications involving Offsite Infrastructure.
       Lead all equipment programme activities, ensuring movement plans are documented and that risks are effectively managed from the point of manufacture to Sizewell C.    Manage relationships with contractual partners at Offsite Infrastructure locations, ensuring           they receive the necessary support to comply with security requirements.
      Oversee the Security Management Plans of contract partners, ensuring they remain accurate and suitable for purpose.

 

The Skills

 

You’ll have demonstrated leadership and high-level managerial skills, particularly within the security sector coupled with strong knowledge and experience in security arrangements for large-scale construction projects.  Expertise in physical security systems, including:
•    Automated Access Control
•    CCTV surveillance and video analytics
•    Intrusion detection systems
•    Physical barriers


Experience in the civil nuclear industry or a similar sector with government security standards is essential.

 

Extensive project management experience is required.
Experience managing a large-scale security contract across Protective, Personnel, and Information Security disciplines is desirable but not mandatory.

Strong working knowledge of financial management, budgeting, planning, and excellent report-writing skills.
Proven experience in developing security governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and guidelines, is highly desirable. 

A solid understanding of security systems and techniques is essential.
Experience in construction site security is highly desirable.
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification/experience is essential.
Experience managing third-party contractors, particularly in performance management, health and safety, and commercial aspects, is desirable.
Experience in protest management, intelligence analysis, and handling planned or unplanned security events is desirable.

The post holder must currently hold or be able to obtain successful NSV SC clearance.
