The Opportunity

Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Interface Engineer to join the Sizewell C project and assist in overseeing the interfaces within and across each of the delivery programmes within SZC, ensuring alignment throughout the project at all stages.

The role will be based in London with travel to the Sizewell C (SZC) site in Suffolk, at key stakeholders’ offices in the UK and potentially overseas as required.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

The Role

As an Interface Engineer you will be an integral link within the civils team Interface Management Plan, monitoring and co-ordinating interfaces throughout, and supporting the civils teams and SZC Project Management Office (PMO) to remain aligned.

You will need to ensure a collaborative approach is maintained across the team to facilitate the planning and delivery of effective and efficient interface management, ensuring all issues are clearly understood by teams and addressed, and appropriate interventions developed and implemented.

In this role you will produce and maintain appropriate, standardized documents and regular reporting to the senior management and other stakeholders reflecting key issues, resolutions, and performance to enable them to effectively understand risks and impacts related to Interfaces on the project.

You’ll also be involved in reviewing and monitoring controls and reporting on a regular basis to the business whilst supporting the Project Managers (PMs) with interface agreements that deliver ‘best for project’ outcomes whilst ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at the highest level.

The Skills

You’ll have an understanding of the challenges faced in interface management on a large infrastructure/engineering project (or similar) on-site experience and previous knowledge of construction activities, approaches, standards and expectations.

You’ll have previous experience in Interface Management on a complex engineering delivery for a major infrastructure project.

Ideally, you’ll have worked in an interface or project based role, where communication, organisation and relationship building have been key.

You’ll be able to provide clear direction, with an emphasis on getting things done whilst engaging and motivating others.
