The opportunity
We’re recruiting for an experienced Finance professional, someone who can bring experience from the energy industry into EDF and make an immediate impact. As our Finance Lead, you’ll be working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of all financial objectives and continuously improve local performance. Working on direct accountability for the functioning, effectiveness and productivity of the Sizewell B Finance Group, you’ll have influence at a senior level with our site leaders. The role is based on-site at Sizewell B Power Station.

The salary range associated with this role is between £71,101 - £84,892. What you’ll be doing
In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provision of strong stewardship and governance of the Station Finance arrangements
- Reviewing planning, budgeting and forecasting information, focusing on challenging assumptions and decisions, ensuring quality and consistency and advising the station leaders. This includes shaping the strategic direction towards the achievement of long-term financial objectives, developing key assumptions, reviewing the capital plan and optimising asset replacement cycles
- Providing input and suggestions to the Business Support Manager, defining proactive financial analytics, recommendations and support
- Defining and monitoring financial KPI’s and setting performance targets in alignment to business strategy and planning, intervening when exceptions occur
- Supporting financial review meetings with the Business
- Playing a lead role in the delivery of year-on-year improvement by adopting a philosophy of continual improvement
- Supporting the delivery of formal reporting to track financial progress and performance as required
- Liaising with other internal stakeholders including the Station Management team and supply chain peer groups to ensure delivery of all financial objectives, share best practice and continually improve local and fleet performance
- Direct accountability for the line management, functioning, effectiveness, productivity and output quality of the Finance group
- Ensuring that the suite of Station finance controls and governance arrangements are aligned to company practices, adhered to and able to be evidenced.
Who you are
As the Finance Lead, you need a proven commercial or financial background with a particular focus on value, strategic thinking and delivery of targets. You must be a Chartered Accountant with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) and holding a relevant degree may be an advantage. Preferably you will have experience in the energy sector or a highly regulated environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form working relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders, potentially at times with competing priorities and objectives, is paramount. You should also have experience of presenting plans, analysis and recommendations to senior leaders with the ability to influence and ensure commercial and regulatory impacts are central to any key business decisions made. You should also have a track record of delivering results, able to influence internal and external partners for the best interests of the business.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
