Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. 
 
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Permitting Delivery Lead within the Environmental Permitting Team at Sizewell C.  

 

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.   
 
 

 

The Role 

 


You’ll manage, co-ordinate and integrate the timely delivery of construction environmental permits, consents and licenses in relation to activities conducted on the Sizewell C Main Development Site and its off-site infrastructure. 

 

You’ll play a key part in the Environmental Permitting Team which sits within the Environmental Consenting and Compliance Team, who are responsible for enabling construction activities through the securing of construction permits for waste, water discharges, water resources, flood risk activities and emissions to air. 

 

You’ll work closely with the other two Environmental Permitting Delivery Leads to ensure a project wide approach to permitting in terms of integration and engagement.

 

You’ll also support the preparation for compliance, working with the broader Environmental consenting and compliance team.

 


The Skills 

 

You’ll have a great understanding of the challenges faced in construction environmental permitting in a complex major infrastructure project.

 

You’ll have good working knowledge of the Environmental Permitting regimes and have good Project management skills.

 

You’ll have knowledge of the planning regimes including for national infrastructure.

 

Experience in environmental / construction consenting, permitting, licensing on a complex major infrastructure project.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, a strong attention to detail.
