Engagement Lead - Employee Affairs Unit (Sizewell C)

Location: Suffolk/ Sizewell C site with potential hybrid working.


Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.


Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.


Salary: c. £60,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.


Are you passionate about building strong relationships and ensuring compliance in a dynamic project environment? We are looking for an EAU Engagement Lead to play a pivotal role in the Employment Affairs Unit (EAU) for our groundbreaking Sizewell C (SZC) construction project.


About Us: 


At SZC, we are dedicated to designing, financing, constructing, and operating a new nuclear power plant while prioritizing inclusion, diversity, and skills development. Our mission is supported by our shareholders, EDF and HMG, and is focused on meeting regulatory and community commitments throughout the project's lifecycle.


What You'll Do: 


As the EAU Engagement Lead, you will engage with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of our People Requirements. You will be at the forefront of facilitating effective relationships among Project Managers, Site Teams, and contractors, ensuring compliance with relevant licenses and contracts.


Your responsibilities will include:


Building Bridges: Foster effective relationships with Tier 1 contract partners, Trade Unions, and local authorities, and collaborate with internal teams to drive successful outcomes.


Guiding Contractors: Serve as the primary contact for contractors, supporting them in understanding and fulfilling their contractual obligations related to regulatory compliance and project deliverables.


Ensuring Compliance: Develop and implement clear processes to manage the on-site workforce and ensure that all People Requirements are met before contractor mobilization.


Driving Engagement: Create engaging activities and communication strategies that ensure all stakeholders are well-informed and aligned with our project objectives.


Who You Are:

Compliance Expertise: A solid understanding of commercial and procurement processes, with experience in compliance-based work environments.

Strong Communication Skills: Capable of conveying complex information clearly, both in writing and verbally.


Essential:


Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT software.


Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.


Desirable :


Previous experience in a regulated industry.


Familiarity with data management and process awareness.
