Data Analyst

We’re currently recruiting a Data Analyst at Sizewell B Power Station in our Business Improvement team. The opportunity

Within the Commercial department, we are looking for you to join our highly motivated and multi-skilled team. You’ll be responsible for trending, analysing and reporting on event data, metrics and processes across the power station. This will include eliciting requirements, reviewing existing ways of working and designing new and improved trending to inform decision making across the power station.

Pay, benefits and culture

The salary range associated with this role is between £40,069 - £71,779 however the starting salary for this appointment will likely be within the range of £40,069 - £60,826 (although open to discussing salary expectations further and where your experience sits within this). You’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. We also have a competitive company pension scheme, a generous holiday allowance and access to a whole host of flexible benefits. During periods of shutdowns and critical work programmes, it may be necessary to work additional hours where a comprehensive agreement is in place to cover any excess hours worked.

What you’ll be doing

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Gathering data, performing analysis and documenting trends based on our event data, metrics and processes
• Mapping best practice to station processes to inform improvement areas
• Preparing analytical reports for our governance meetings and working with our stakeholders to inform required improvement and direction
• Preparing analytical reports from our task observation and coaching database
• Conducting meetings and presentations to share plans and findings
• Supporting monthly and annual metric assimilation, submission and presentation.

Who you are

The minimum qualification for this role is HNC (or level 4 equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline and it may be advantageous if you hold a relevant degree.

You will also need:

• An exceptional understanding of, or experience of using, data analytical skills
• The ability to work closely with stakeholders to determine acceptable solutions
• An understanding of organisational learning, performance improvement and business planning processes
• The ability to give self-direction and work autonomously
• Competency in Microsoft applications, including Power BI, and Business objects
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
