The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The SZC Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk which is currently seeking planning approval and financing from HMG and investors, with a view to start construction in 2023. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years supporting our objective to help Britain achieve Net Zero by 2050.

As a Construction Manager, you’ll take responsibility for delivery of the Principal Contractors Function as defined by the CDM 2015 Regulations for the Sizewell C development site. The role will allow you to support activities in the field relating to the construction of a designated section of the works and it’s on site facilitation. This includes day to day on site supervision and coordination of the works as necessary, to safely and efficiently deliver the project.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you don’t have to live in London or Suffolk. If you’re able to travel to the London office or Suffolk to collaborate with your team and stakeholders when required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

The Role

You’ll support the on-going development of the construction phase plan, and it's implementation and compliance on site. 

We’re looking for someone to monitor site to ensure that suitable welfare facilities are provided from the start and maintained throughout the construction phase. 

The role will allow you to ensure that all workers have site-specific inductions, and any further information and training they need.

You’ll support and monitor arrangements for managing health and safety throughout the construction phase as well as preventing unauthorised access to the site, wherever practicable.

The Skills

You’re likely to hold a degree or other industry recognised qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar related sector.


You’ll bring your proven experience in the function and delivery of Principal Contractor Role in a civil engineering/ Infrastructure environment. Preferably on medium to large scale infrastructure civil projects.

We’d love for you to have knowledge in the delivery of more than one of the key disciplines, -Highways, Rail, Utilities, Site Establishment, Earthworks, Piling.

You may have tertiary qualifications in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering or construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.

It would be great if you are a SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
