CDM Advisor - Assurance (Sizewell C)

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. 
 
We have a fantastic opportunity for a CDM Advisor within the Safety Security and Assurance function at Sizewell C. 

 

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.   


 


The Role 

 


You’ll provide direct support to the CDM Lead to deliver clear assurance to the Sizewell C Client Organisation that the Client’s duties are being fully discharged as required by CDM 2015. 

 

You’ll be responsible for the delivery of critical assurance activities with specific objectives and contents.

 

You’ll have the ability to coordinate activities with related functions / programmes and possess skills to motivate and influence others. 

 

You’ll be capable of working independently with limited oversight from the Conventional Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager, but also be a team player and able to work closely with the CDM Lead and build relationships across wide networks.

 

You’ll be developing, implementing and maintaining CDM policies and strategies, leading to clear easily understood arrangements. 

 


The Skills 


 

You’ll have a proven track record of achieving objectives on major construction and / or Engineering projects. 

 

You’ll have excellent knowledge of UK legislation and applicable regulations related to Construction activities.

 

Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop a wide network and working relationships within Sizewell C, the site Delivery Team and Civil Works Programme organisation.

 

You’ll have a good knowledge and understanding of CDM Duty Holder responsibilities.

 

It would be great if you have experience of operating on nuclear related construction projects.

 

You’ll have a NEBOSH National Diploma or European equivalent and be a Chartered membership of IOSH or equivalent or relevant professional body.
