Training Administration Lead

The Opportunity

 

The Training Administration Lead oversees the implementation of training compliance and training records for the whole station.

 

Leading a team of administration staff, they communicate with all levels of the organisation including offsite technical governance and regulators, to ensure the station’s staff are suitably qualified to perform their roles, supporting safe and reliable generation.

 

They achieve this through excellent customer focus, driving engagement in training from the line and having strong relationships with the instructor population to create high levels of teamwork and training accountability.

We can offer a competitive salary from £34,641 - £60,826 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you will be doing

 

As well as dealing with daily training administration tasks, your key responsibilities will be leading a dedicated team of training administration staff to:

  • Provide training oversight, support and guidance to all staff at Heysham 1 Power Station.
  • Act as the training compliance and records conscience for the station, liaising with all levels of the organisation to ensure fleet targets are achieved and producing and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Be a source of advice and guidance on relevant training matters with particular reference to Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations and station training objectives as required.
  • Be the focal point for internal and external training audits and inspections and requests for training data.
  • Provide pro-active support to station initiatives/programmes, changes to post and role training profiles, through active participation in a Training Administration Peer Group.
  • Provide support and guidance to other Departments who have responsibilities for training such as Industrial Safety and HR (Leadership training).
  • Supply training instructors and their relevant program committees with the data required to effectively oversee compliance.
  • Deputise for the training group head as required.

 

Who you are

 

  • As a minimum, entrants will be educated to GCSE/National Qualification standards (or equivalent).
  • Experience in leadership would be advantageous.
  • Experience working within My Learning Hub or equivalent Training Compliance Tools would be advantageous.
  • You will have strong IT skills with a history of working with, interpreting and presenting large amounts of data.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to give help and advice to others across a wide spectrum of training issues.
  • You will have a high level of integrity in order to develop and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders, both on and off site
  • You will be extremely organised and have the ability to multi-task and juggle numerous different priorities, working well independently using your own initiative, as well as being a highly respected team member.
  • You will demonstrate an ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach such that you are able to support different teams across various disciplines and levels as and when required.

Applicants will be required to obtain CTC level vetting prior to taking up their duties.

 

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
