Outage Project Manager

We are looking for a delivery-focussed individual who can manage technical projects in a safety-focused environment to a high quality, whilst maintaining cost and schedule performance.

 

The Opportunity

 

The Outage Department Project Manager will be accountable to the Outage Group Head for successful delivery of all aspects of their assigned project(s) and are specifically responsible for overall safety, quality, schedule and cost performance.

 

The opportunity would be ideal for an experienced Project Manager accustomed to co-ordinating teams, delivering work within tight timescales and reporting progress to key stakeholders.

We can offer a competitive salary from £40,069 - £71,779 with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing

 

Alongside reporting into the Outage Management Group Head, you will carry out the following tasks:

  • Identify, implement and comply with applicable company safety, environmental, and quality, procedures and policy, and relevant legislative and regulatory, requirements.
  • Establish the baseline Scope, Quality and Schedule for their project and ensuring that company reporting tools accurately reflect the project(s) position.
  • Work with key stakeholders both within station and externally to help deliver optimal solutions in a safe manner to meet or better the project schedule and quality requirements.
  • Securing the required resources and ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team
  • Ensuring that effective scope control process is implemented when significant changes to project scope, schedule or cost are identified.
  • Maximizing their team’s OpEx, disseminating and input of lessons learned across all project stages.
  • Carrying out effective Stakeholders communication regarding project performance, issues concerns, and risks through the required reporting mechanisms.
  • Leading and coaching their project team (including temporary workers) to maximise efficient and effective delivery, in a safe and timely manner, of fit for purpose solutions that meet or better the project baseline cost, schedule and quality requirements.
  • Drive for excellence in Safety, Quality, Forecasting, Time and Cost.

 

Who you are

 

The successful candidate will be qualified to a HNC level as a minimum and ideally hold a degree in a relevant field such as Engineering or hold an equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline.

 

Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional qualification, ideally APM/PMQ or RPP/PPQ would be an advantage.

 

Proven record and experience in the management and delivery of projects through the full project lifecycle, ideally across a range of complex multi-disciple projects and environments.

 

Knowledge of HSE and CDM legislation as well as being an efficient user of scheduling, programming and risk tools is desirable.

 

Excellent verbal and written communications are essential for the role.

 Applicants will be required to obtain CTC level vetting prior to taking up their duties. 

 

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
