Lead Document Controller / Records Manager

The Opportunity

 

We are offering a Permanent or a Secondment opportunity as a Lead Document Controller / Records Manager to work within EDF’s Generation Business Unit reporting to the Business Performance Group Head at Heysham 2 Power Station.

 

You’ll provide the station with an effective document management centre in pursuit of delivering excellence within the field of documentation control and records management, which satisfies company, regulatory and site licence requirements.

 

You will lead the Document Management Team, including contract partner and agency staff.

What you’ll be doing

 

As the Lead Document Controller / Records Manager your duties will include:

 

  • Lead the Document Control, Records & Archive and Drawing Office Teams, managing the day-to-day work to ensure document and records procedures are implemented and complied with whilst maintaining customer focus.
  • Processing documents through from indexing, formatting, reviewing, approving, issuing, distributing and archiving using the company electronic system e.g. Configured Document Management System (CDMS) and the Asset Management System (AMS).
  • Manage and develop the document and records management processes in line with best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Providing quality assurance in compliance with document and records procedures to ensure the documents and records are managed to satisfy site licence requirements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures and safety rules.
  • Provide support for document management owners, reviewers and approvers.
  • Ensure team resources, processes and activities are continuously reviewed and optimised to meet business objectives.

 

Who you are

 

The successful Lead Document Controller / Records Manager will have experience of Nuclear or a similar highly regulated industry whereby working in a demanding and time critical environment where change is a regular occurrence.

 

You’ll ideally hold a relevant national qualification e.g., City & Guilds in Business Administration and have working knowledge of national standards applicable to the management of documents and records.

 

Previous experience of working with information and records management principles and information systems, hierarchies and archives is desirable however we will provide training on CDMS/AMS.

 

You will:

  • Understand the requirements of Site Licence Condition 6 (Documents, Records, Authorities & Certificates)
  • Be able to work in a demanding and time critical environment where change is a regular occurrence.
  • Be an effective team player and relationship builder, as you’ll often be liaising with a range of stakeholders from Senior Management within EDF to members of the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR)
  • Be an effective leader and stakeholder manager, building long-standing relationships across the business.
  • Be an influential leader and able to competently discuss process compliance from both a technical and business perspective.

 

Closing date for applications: Wednesday September 25th  

An assessment centre at Heysham 2 Power Station will be held week commencing Monday October 7th  

 

 Applicants will be required to obtain CTC level vetting prior to taking up their duties. 

 

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
