As a Document Centre Team Leader you’ll work within EDF’s Generation Business Unit reporting to the Business Performance Group Head at Heysham 2 Power Station.

You’ll provide the station with an effective document management centre in pursuit of delivering excellence within the field of documentation control and records management, which satisfies company, regulatory and site licence requirements.

You will lead and set to work the Documentation Team, including contract partner and agency staff.

What you’ll be doing


As the Document Centre Team Leader you will:


  • Lead the Document Centre, Records and Drawing Office Teams on a day to day basis to ensure document and records procedures are implemented and complied with whilst maintaining customer focus at all times.
  • Manage and develop the document and records management processes in line with best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Produce, update, quality check and issue documents on AMS/CDMS to ensure approved documents and records are available electronically.
  • Index, store and protect records in a variety of media (paper, microfiche etc) to ensure they are stored and maintained in the correct conditions and are easily retrievable in accordance with company requirements.
  • Provide support to the Emergency Control Centre, Central Control Room and Simulator to maintain all hardcopy documentation required by them.
  • Deliver training and provide support for document management owners, reviewers and approvers.
  • Ensure team resources, processes and activities are continuously reviewed and optimised to meet business objectives.


Who you are


As a minimum requirement our Document Centre Team Leader must have a relevant National qualification e.g City & Guilds in Business Administration.  


As the Document Centre Team Leader you’ll have a thorough understanding of the requirements of Site Licence Condition 6 (Documents, Records, Authorities & Certificates) as well as having a background in Nuclear or another highly regulated industry..


You’ll come with knowledge of Station documentation and quality control issues, as well as AMS (Doc Management, Action Tracking, Work Management) and how they interact with one another. Having used fleet reporting tools – Cognos/Business Objects will also prove useful.


You need to be able to work in a demanding and time critical environment where change is a regular occurrence. You’ll be an effective team player, and relationship builder as you’ll often be liaising with a range of stakeholders from Senior Management within EDF to members of the Office for Nuclear Regulation.
