The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The SZC Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk which is currently seeking planning approval and financing from HMG and investors, with a view to start construction in 2023. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.


We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Sustainability Analyst to join the SZC Sustainability Assurance Team, which assures the delivery of environment, social and governance (ESG) targets across the project. 


Our teams are set up to work flexibly. If you’re able to travel to the office to collaborate with your team and stakeholders when required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively. 
 

The Role

 

You’ll support the delivery of SZC’s ESG commitments by collating information related to sustainability (e.g. carbon reporting, diversity and inclusion, etc), which will be used for reporting, performing functional assurance of ESG aspects throughout the project, and managing SZC’s ESG arrangements. 


Additionally, you’ll support regulatory and stakeholder engagements with the Environment Agency, Investors and our CEEQUAL verifier. 
 

The Skills

 

You’ll have a background in analytics in a discipline such as environmental, science or something similar with an interest in environmental and/ or social topics. 


Accuracy and attention to detail will be key, you must be able to work independently and demonstrate excellent communication/ interpersonal skills.


Ideally, you’ll be able to show an understanding of key sustainability issues, particularly social or environmental issues relevant to a project such as SZC.
