We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you’ll be doing

As an experienced member of the Short-term trading team, you will be responsible for the optimisation of the flexible assets including batteries, CCGT and gas peakers. You will be directly responsible for generating Profit & Loss by optimally closing the wider portfolio imbalance position through the continuous market. You will also generate Profit & Loss by trading the portfolio imbalance in and out of hours and will lock in Spark Spreads for CCGT and Gas Peaker assets.

You’ll manage the relationship with the Curve Trading team and provide updates on any new requirements as your dispatch profile changes. You will ensure EDF remains compliant with all relevant obligations including Competition Law, REMIT, TCLC & IOLC.

Working closely with the Shift Trader Manager, you will have the opportunity to help develop and upskill colleagues with a view to improving the wider team performance.

Who you are

We are looking for an experienced trader with strong numerical, analytical and IT skills with a track record of accurate and high-quality work.

As a Shift Trader, you will have experience within Power or Gas trading of either UK or Continental Markets. You will be a team player with strong communication skills and the ability to articulate your ideas and ensure compliance obligations are understood by the team.

You will have the ability and confidence to suggest strategies to help improve Profit & Loss, whether through trading imbalance positions or asset-backed trading.
