The Opportunity

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
SZC currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Risk Manager to join our growing business.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role
We are looking for someone to support the development and maintenance of the Risk strategy, plan and processes, consistent with HM Treasury Orange Book principles and industry best practice.
You’ll also develop and produce key reports to inform both internal and external stakeholders in Risk performance, as well as key risks, issues, and assumptions, and deliver assured quantitative risk assessments for time and cost in support of the delivery of the programme contingency estimate.
The PMO Risk team has overall responsibility for Portfolio level Risks and integration of the Programme Risk Registers. The role also covers functional management of other Risk resources within the given delivery Programme.
You’ll work closely with all other areas of the project to facilitate improvements, liaising with company-wide representatives to maintain compliance.
The Skills
You’ll have previous demonstrable Risk Management experience on Major Projects/ Programmes
It would be great if you had memberships of one or more risk or project management organisation e.g. APM, PMI, IRM, CERA or a suitable equivalent.
You’ll bring your experience of developing QSRA models Enterprise and risk management application knowledge to the position.
You will have the ability to innovate, think laterally and tackle new areas of business risk and opportunity.
Knowledge of P6, Microsoft Project or similar planning tool experience is desirable.
