London location, with flexibility.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you will own the preparation and review of EDF financial reporting including key EDF UK group transactions such as pension, leases, tax etc as well as the Corporate entities management reporting (prepared by the Corporate Cost Team). You wil co-ordinate activities with a variety of key stakeholders which includes the corporate cost team, financial shared services (FSS) team, technical accounting team, consolidation and performance team and the actuaries and tax team. You will be accountable for the timely and accurate completion of Reporting and Planning, along with preparation of statutory accounts and will be recognised as a point of reference, a trusted accountant by the business units, supporting the Head of Accounting and Consolidation and Financial Control Director.

Day to day you will:
 

  • Support all monthly financial reporting including performance reports, re-forecasts and the annual planning process including Budgets and the Medium-Term Plan for EDF and other holdings. 
  • Review monthly treasury journal entries and analysis of the financial result, coordinating intercompany process.
  • Perform financial analysis of actual and planning data including working capital analysis as prepared by the Finance Shared Services team as well as prepare tax journal entries in coordination with tax for EDF.
  • Pension: Coordinate the actuaries’ work, prepare quarterly pension journal entries as well as prepare quarterly pension trustees’ presentation.
  • Prepare presentations for credit rating agency as well as prepare, coordinate and account for IFRS 16 journal entries.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects/action plans as directed by the Financial Control Director, the Head of Accounting and Consolidation as well as review and own EDF financial statements as prepared by Technical Accounting.

The Skills


You will need to:
 

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or equivalent with post qualification experience.
  • Have a strong academic record with good numerical, IT and written skills with an up to date knowledge of IFRS.
  • Have experience of working in a finance department within a large organisation.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Hyperion and ANAPLAN would be desirable.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of key business issues is desirable as well as experience within the utility or power sector.
