What you’ll be doing…
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be commercially responsible for all pre- and post-contract matters related to the contracts assigned to you. Reporting to and supporting a Commercial Lead, you will assess the scope, duration, and value of each contract against the Contract Authorised Sum (CAS) and define the commercial requirements. Lead a commercial team and play a key role in the procurement process during the pre-award phase.
In the post-award phase, you will provide commercial management to optimise operational and financial performance while minimising risk. This includes managing contract final account agreements, supporting Project Managers to ensure effective contract delivery, and formally closing out all project contracts while capturing lessons learned.
Who you are…
We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager with strong commercial and contract management expertise, preferably a member of a professional body such as RICS, CICES, or CIOB (or equivalent). Have a thorough understanding of best practice contract methodologies, with highly developed commercial skills and the ability to make sound decisions on high-value financial matters. A degree-level education is required, along with a solid background in contract performance measurement, risk management, and change and claim management.
You will have significant experience working with NEC and FIDIC contracts, particularly in the power construction industry and on major projects, with a strong knowledge of UK law and its implications for contract and commercial functions. Familiarity with nuclear site licence conditions, the nuclear baseline philosophy, and the UK regulatory framework is essential. Proficiency in using commercial management tools such as CEMAR and SAP is also required.
If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!
Closing date for applications: 22nd January 2025
