Senior Commercial Analyst

If so, we have an exciting opportunity here at EDF for a Commercial Senior Analyst to join our team!


The Opportunity


EDF Wholesale Market Services (WMS) is a core business line within the EDF UK Customers Business that is at the centre of helping Britain achieve Net Zero. It provides industry leading wholesale market services to EDF’s supply and generation business units and to third party energy asset owners. The team operates in a broad and diverse range of market segments including residential & business supply, nuclear, renewable & thermal generation and storage & flexible energy.


We are looking for a talented Senior Analyst to join the Commercial and Product Strategy team and take responsibility for the identification and development of new commercial opportunities to help create current and future value for EDF and its partners.

What you’ll be doing


As the Commercial Senior Analyst, you will report into the Senior Manager of Commercial & Product Strategy and will lead on the identification, analysis and development of new commercial opportunities, creating value for EDF, its partners and customers. You will develop and deliver new products in Residential and Business Flex such as EV Smart Charging, BTM batteries, Heat Pumps, Demand Side Response and other Flex Technologies.


You will take ownership of some internal and external strategic relationships including National Grid (ESO), EDF Group and partners. Working closely with WMS partners, you’ll ensure change is delivered and implemented effectively.


Your expert guidance will be critical to prioritisation decisions, informing EDF’s Flex Commercial Strategy and organisational business plan. You will apply your in-depth knowledge of Flexibility products to own the development of the product, including marketing of both on and off supply flexibility products.


Who you are


We are looking for somebody with strong knowledge and expertise in ‘Behind the Meter’ Energy Flexibility (e.g. EV Smart Charging), strong stakeholder relationship skills and experience in creating value for both the customer and flexibility provider.


You will have excellent attention to detail and will demonstrate experience in the end-to-end development of new customer propositions.


You will demonstrate strong commercial acumen and communication skills to help develop and, in some instances, negotiate new products and contracts.


As the Senior Analyst, you will be expected to model the commercial value of Energy Flexibility assets and therefore, experience in Python is beneficial.
