The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The SZC Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk which is currently seeking finance from HMG and investors, with a view to start construction in 2023. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting our objective to help Britain achieve Net Zero by 2050.


As a Senior Carbon Analyst, you’ll be responsible for the development and implementation of Sizewell C (SZC) Carbon Management Strategy. This includes ensuring compliance with the project’s carbon related objectives and alignment with financial and industry standards and best practice.


Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you don’t have to live in London. If you’re able to travel to the London office to collaborate with your team and stakeholders when required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively. 


The Role 

We are looking for someone to establish carbon reduction targets for the project and develop robust evidence base to support the delivery. This will involve identifying associated risks and developing risk management plans.

You’ll be responsible for implementing the carbon management strategy for Sizewell C which will include the construction, operation, and decommissioning as well as ensuring alignment with carbon related industry standards and investors reporting requirements.

The role will allow you to oversee carbon data collection from the project and its supply chain as well as develop relationships with key stakeholders to drive reporting accuracy improvements over time.

Working closely with the SZC Energy Hub projects, such as Direct Air Capture, you’ll offer expertise in carbon benefit calculations and scenario analysis.

The Skills

You’re likely to have strong analytical skills including the ability to generate reports, carry out complex and accurate data analysis and produce presentation materials.

It would be great if you hold knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (such as PAS 2080).

You’ll bring your experience of working with industry leading carbon reporting tools.

Having good commercial awareness as well as being comfortable to work independently is essential.
