The Opportunity


As part of our plan to secure a low-carbon energy future, EDF Energy is leading the way in building a fleet of safe, reliable nuclear power stations in the UK. Sizewell C (SZC) is a proposed new nuclear station that is being developed with a target to start construction at the end of 2021.

The SZC Project Team is a growing, diverse and collaborative organisation committed to engaging stakeholders, obtaining development consent and preparing the project for the start of construction.

The Project Delivery Organisation (PDO) is an integral part of this project, responsible for managing the end to end delivery (EPCC: Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) of the plant, ensuring scope is delivered safely to quality, on time and within cost.

The Role


As a Business Analyst for the PDO, you will have a unique opportunity to gain experience in a key team at the heart of the SZC project – Europe’s largest public infrastructure project that will help the UK reduce carbon emissions and achieve net zero. 

The focus within the PDO for 2021 is to develop and help drive a comprehensive implementation road map with appropriate accountabilities accepted by the team, and ensure progress is made according to plan and the overall requirements of the project.

You will have the following main accountabilities:

•    Develop and implement a comprehensive road map and ensure progress is made according to plan
•    Ensure the PDO structure is developed with clear identification of the interfaces
•    Propose models to ensure an appropriate governance is in place
•    Coordinate the development of the organizational notes in collaboration with the functions
•    Develop the SZC site organization and capabilities in line with our operational needs (main responsibilities, site activities organization, schedule to implement)
•    Develop the end to end process that will support our Information Management system (coordinate workshops, implementation strategy)
•    Collaborate with HR and Supply Chain to determine the best people strategy both in terms of who and how
•    Prepare materials on multiple topics that support the development of the delivery organisation for SZC for use internal and with external stakeholders

The Skills


To be successful in the role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

•    Degree qualified in an engineering or science related discipline or equivalent 
•    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage credibly with internal and external stakeholders
•    Ability to influence and encourage change of behaviours across a wide range of organisational levels
•    Strong presentation and communication skills – able to present at multiple organisational levels and to external regulatory stakeholders
•    Flexible, enthusiastic and diligent approach with a willingness to develop knowledge
•    Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and work on several projects simultaneously 
•    Organised and methodical with confident communication skills
•    Strong Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
