Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full-time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible/part-time approach where possible.

The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The SZC Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk which is currently seeking planning approval and financing from HMG and investors, with a view to start construction in 2023. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years supporting our objective to help Britain achieve Net Zero by 2050.

 

As a Regulatory and Licensing Officer, you’ll work as part of the Regulatory and Licensing (R&L) team on the Sizewell C project helping to ensure that the licensing requirements are met as well as managing the interface with the Office for Nuclear Regulation and Environment Agency. 

 

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you don’t have to live in London. If you’re able to travel to the office to collaborate with your team and stakeholders when required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively. 

The Role

 

We’re looking for someone to deliver administrative support to the wider project on the implementation of SZC arrangements to manage the interface with the regulators to achieve an open and efficient relationship. You’ll ensure that formal interactions with the regulators take place in accordance with our processes. 

 

The role will allow you to provide advice to members of the wider project in order to maintain compliance with the Nuclear Site Licence. In the same vein, you’ll deliver briefings and provide guidance on SZC’s Regulatory Interface and Nuclear Site Licence arrangements. 

 

Working closely with subject matter experts, you’ll monitor progress and report on identified issues as well as organise and provide secretariat support for internal and external meetings.

The Skills

 
You’re likely to have excellent organisational and communication skills, especially written communication in terms of spelling and the use of grammar when compiling business documentation. 

It would be great if you are able to work independently and on your own initiative, as well as being able to work as part of a team contributing to a positive working environment. 

You’ll bring your proven attention to detail alongside great discretion in terms of remaining confidential when dealing with sensitive information. 

Being IT literate with a positive attitude towards using corporate systems such as Document Management systems is essential. 

Good working knowledge of excel and experience of using PowerBI would be highly desirable.

Having previously acted as a Committee or Board secretariat and/or experience in a highly regulated environment, ideally engineering, oil and gas,etc. would be favourable.
