Project Support Officer / PA - 12 Months FTC

The Opportunity

As part of our plan to secure a low-carbon energy future, EDF’s Nuclear New Build (NNB) team is leading an ambitious programme to build a fleet of safe, reliable nuclear power stations in the UK, focussed on two new nuclear power stations, the first since Sizewell B in 1995. The first station is under construction at Hinkley Point C in Somerset, and NNB’s ambition is to build a second at Sizewell C in Suffolk. The Sizewell C project is currently in the development phase, with UK public policy; financing; commercial and construction arrangements being established. The intention is to begin construction of the project during 2022.


Reporting to the Commercial Develoment Manager, the Project Support Officer will provide project and PA support to the Senior Financing & Economic Regulation (F&ER) team and Nuclear Development (ND) Business Unit, working closely with the Exec PA to the F&ER Director. Provides support to the virtual data room and works with the PA for the Managing Director ND on large meeting organisation, along with general administrative support to the Nuclear Development Business Unit This is a demanding post requiring excellent communication and organisational skills combined with pro-active approach to the diverse workload. 

 

The role requires a high level of tact and integrity due to the sensitive nature and frequency of senior level external contacts and regular exposure to confidential commercial data. 

The Person

 

The role requires a high level of tact and integrity due to the sensitive nature and frequency of senior level external contacts and regular exposure to confidential commercial data. You will:


•    Manage documentation uploads and data entry to the Virtual Data Room, coordinating the capture of all documentation across ND and ensuring complete and accurate records are held
•    Works with the PAs for the ND MD and F&ER Director and HPC Visitor Coordination Team with complex site visits and coordination.
•    Organising meetings with BEIS and other government stakeholders
•    Provides Exec PA support working as an integral part of a team contributing to team success, communications and a positive working environment
•    Support general administrative duties as they arise

 

The Skills

 

Nuclear Development is a fast-paced and evolving organisation. The post holder will need to demonstrate:

•    Compliance with health, safety, environment and other statutory requirements relevant to this role

•    Ability to deal with difficult enquiries /solve unique problems
•    Flexibility and adaptability to deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced work environment 

 

Specifically, you will have:
•    Attention to detail and accuracy
•    Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
•    Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
•    Experience in managing competing priorities
•    Extensive experience as a PA at an Executive Level
•    Flexible integrated approach with the ability to multi-task and work on own initiative
•    Excellent organisational skills (flexible/organised/methodical) 
•    Discretion - confidentiality when dealing with sensitive and personal information
•    Excellent communication/interpersonal skills notably with various levels of the organisation and externally
•    Previous team support experience
•    General administrative/secretarial knowledge producing professional work as well as ability to adapt to new and changing systems (and possibly creating systems)
•    Use of Outlook or similar diary/email application; Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point
•    Previous experience in the energy industry desirable
