The scope covers all EDF Renewables technologies: wind, solar and storage. Optimisation of the commercial strategy for operational assets takes priority, although support could also be required for assets under development/construction.

What you’ll be doing

As Optimisation Lead you will be responsible for ensuring that all assets in the EDFR portfolio are being operated at peak commercial performance in addition to:

  • Leading contract tenders for new & existing “non-power” related revenue streams, e.g. National Grid Pathfinders, ancillary services and the Capacity Market.
  • Managing impacts of new revenue streams and services on Power Purchase Agreements and BESS Optimisation Agreements for effective delivery, on behalf of the Asset Management team. Ensuring that obligations are being met by both parties.
  • Facilitating cross-functional working groups to progress a pipeline of revenue optimisation opportunities for wind, solar and battery storage assets, driving them from identification to realisation.
  • Providing commercial advice to the rest of Asset Operations, e.g., battery O&M, wind outage planners, etc. as well as other areas of EDF Renewables.
  • Exploiting opportunities such as new revenue streams by working with engineering, asset management and legal teams. One such example being the drive to introduce more renewable assets into the Balancing Mechanism.
  • Documenting and mapping key business processes, giving the wider business clarity over its responsibilities and how it manages them.
  • To ensure assets are compliant with their respective regulatory requirements and that market risk is being managed during their operations.

What do you need to be great at this role?

You will hold an academic qualification at degree level or recognised equivalent coupled with:

  • Experience within UK Energy Market & Regulation.
  • Specific familiarity with Ancillary Services contracts, renewable Power Purchase Agreements or battery Optimisation Agreements would be an advantage.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong at building relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Able to work effectively across a business with strong influencing skills.
