The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The SZC Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk which is currently seeking planning approval and financing from HMG and investors, with a view to start construction in 2023. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years supporting our objective to help Britain achieve Net Zero by 2050.

As the Information Security Manager, you’ll be responsible for establishing the right security and governance practices and enabling a framework for risk-free and scalable business operations in the Nuclear New Build (NNB) SZC construction. You’ll focus on understanding the security challenges in the current and future state of business operations, mapping learning from NNB Hinkley Point C (HPC) Project and preparing the SZC Project organisation with the right resources against growing cyber and information security risks.  

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you don’t have to live in London or Gloucester. If you’re able to travel to the London or Gloucester office to collaborate with your team and stakeholders when required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.


The Role


We’re looking for someone to engage with the overall organisational data strategy, information governance and advise on the best data management and governance approach, aligning data privacy with business objectives ensuring information security safeguards are effective.


Working in collaboration with the Technical Services Organisation (TSO), you’ll develop the Operational Technology (OT) Security Plan, establish policy and define IT requirements including Instrumentation and Control (I&C) as part of the wider CS&IA strategy.


The role will allow you evaluate the Information Technology Threat landscape, devise policies and controls to reduce risk and lead auditing and compliance initiatives.


You’ll be responsible for ensuring that Supply Chain Cyber Security puts in place appropriate Cyber Security and Information Security risk management and assurance that meet the required standards.


The Skills


It is expected that you are educated to degree level (or equivalent) or have a comparable level of practical experience.

Good working knowledge of applicable international standards and information security frameworks (ISO27001, ISO27017, GDPR, Cyber Essentials Plus) is essential.

You’ll have developed your skills within the Nuclear sector where your cyber security credentials as well as knowledge of Civil Nuclear Cyber Security have been proven.

You must understand CPNI and NCSC material including assurance of supply chain activities.

You’ll bring your proven experience of NIS Regulations and Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).

It would be great if are aware of risk assessment methodologies including ISO27005 and NIST.

An understanding of HMG Security Policy Framework is highly desirable.
