Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Business Partner at Sizewell C, we are a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation committed to delivering outstanding results and value to our stakeholders. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Business Partner to our join our finance team and support keys business decisions.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role
As a Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leaders, and key stakeholders across various departments to provide financial insights, analysis, and strategic guidance. You will play a critical role in driving financial performance, supporting business growth, and helping the organisation achieve its financial goals.
You’ll be a commercially focused, proactive, strategic thinker with a core understanding of financial principles.
You’ll combine your technical and financial expertise with your knowledge of the external commercial environment and industry, the business entity and its operating model, objectives and challenges.
You’ll work collaboratively with the other Finance teams under the CFO but also with the other Project Support teams of Project Controls, Supply Chain and HR in addition to the Delivery Programme of the project.
You’ll support the SZC Lead Finance Business Partner and SZC Leadership team to own, manage and maintain financial control and governance processes, partnering with all stakeholders, driving awareness of financial performance, enhancing decision making and supporting the effective delivery of the project.
You’ll ensure accurate and robust cost information and will have direct responsibility for challenging the business.
Skills/Knowledge
You’ll have previous experience of project finance in a large infrastructure and experience of working within or for a fast growing, high demand business.
You’ll be a part or fully-qualified accountant with a recognised UK Professional Organisation (e.g. ACCA, ACA, ICAEW, ICAS, CIMA)
You’ll have proven experience in a finance business partnering or finance analyst role.
Excellent at building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
Excellent influencing, communication and presentation skills.
Strong commercial acumen & analytical skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly and concisely.
Ability to prioritise and manage activities with regular and tight deadlines.

* Sizewell C Limited will be moving offices from 90 Whitfield Street to 25 Copthall Avenue.
25 Copthall Avenue is a modern building just a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Sizewell C will occupy the whole of the 4th floor. We are targeting a move in February 2025.
This role will be contractually based at 25 Copthall Avenue. However, depending on the date of the move there may be a period that you will be required to work temporarily from our existing office at 90 Whitfield Street.
