Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference? Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Engineering Programme Manager to join our team at Sizewell C!

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

The Role

You'll oversee contract management and lead the delivery of the SZC-led design within the £8bn Civil Works Programme, driving the critical path for the first six years and playing a vital role in the project’s full lifecycle. Reporting to the SZC Civil Works Programme Director, you'll support their leadership across all activities involved in delivering the Civil Works Programme, ensuring that engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost requirements. As a key member of the Civil Works Programme leadership team, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of this crucial programme.

The Skills

You'll bring strong leadership and management skills, with experience in engineering management, programme and project management, schedule management, financial management, and change management, all while maintaining a focus on nuclear safety culture. Your leadership, organisation, presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills will be essential, alongside strong numerical and analytical abilities. A degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or a related field are required, along with a good knowledge of CDM Regulations and engineering in the nuclear sector.

With significant experience in engineering design leadership and management, particularly within the nuclear sector, you'll have a proven track record of working at a leadership level in major projects. You'll have successfully delivered complex, technically challenging projects, ensuring safety, security, and environmental responsibility. Your experience will include engaging with executive management and stakeholders, as well as managing contractors, consultants, and advisors throughout large, complex construction projects in a regulated environment.

If the above sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you!
