Salary: £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience.

The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting projects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. The SZC Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk which is currently seeking finance from HMG and investors, with a view to start construction in 2023. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting our objective to help Britain achieve Net Zero by 2050.
As an Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Specialist, you’ll be supporting the ESG Lead in the implementation of the Sizewell C (SZC) ESG Strategy and embedding ESG within the project. This includes research and analysis of various issues impacting ESG performance and being a key support in delivering ESG requirements of SZC’s investors.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you don’t have to live in London. If you’re able to travel to the London office to collaborate with your team and stakeholders when required, you can be based anywhere in the UK. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
The Role
We are looking for someone who can support implementation of SZC ESG Strategy across the organisation including; input in development of organisational frameworks necessary to embed sustainability into the project’s DNA, drafting papers, presentation materials, and conducting ESG assessments.
You’ll be responsible for preparing and delivering high quality research, analytical work and reports focused on ESG and green finance requirements. This includes research of sustainability issues and stakeholder interests.
The role will allow you to support the implementation of ESG requirements through the supply chain using the SZC ESG requirements database and related audit process.
Working closely with the ESG team, you will provide support in terms of developing the carbon management strategy.

The Skills
You’ll bring your enthusiasm for developing a career in sustainability/ESG along with a good understanding of the fundamental sustainability principles.
It would be great if you have strong report writing skills as well as advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
You’re likely to have a degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Climate Sciences or Financial discipline or equivalent experience.
Being a good communicator with a pro active approach to problem solving is essential.
