The Opportunity

 

The energy market is disruptive, here at EDF we ensure that the data we use is fully optimised and of the best quality. Behind this we have a team of extraordinary agile BigData Engineers building highly resilient, scalable and performant data engineering pipelines in a fully automated and governed AWS infrastructure. 


We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join this team and work. If you have extensive experience in statistical research, data engineering, the design of new algorithms, and the application of statistical programming tools and techniques to large datasets this is a great opportunity for you. 


Not only will you join a team of talented engineers, you will work alongside Data Scientists, BigData Application Developers, DevOps Engineers, and cross-functional IT teams.


Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you don’t have to live in London. If you’re able to travel to the office 2/3 days a month to collaborate with your team and stakeholders and see the project’s progression for yourself, you can be based anywhere in the UK.

The Role

 

You will support the Data Acceleration Team in building and managing robust ETL/ELT pipelines for reading, cleaning, cataloguing, encrypting, and delivering disparate datasets.

 

We need you to be comfortable working with structured and unstructured data from variable sources to ensure that data scientists working as part of product teams are provided with required high-quality data.

 

You will work closely with data governance and data quality teams to ensure compliance and quality ensuring the enterprise standards relating to security, governance and documentation are met. 


If you have extensive hands-on experience in Python, Pandas, PySpark, Jupyter Notebooks  and would consider yourself and Expert in creating ETL/ELT pipelines, Data Cataloguing, Data Lineage, Data Warehousing, we’d love to hear from you. 


Several years of experience working in leading Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google, etc is going to be important.
