The Opportunity


As the Data Engineer in the Curve Trading Performance & Insight team, you’ll develop pipelines and data models required for the commercial reporting on the department’s trading activity.


The Curve Trading Performance & Insight team sits within the Portfolio Operations team, who are responsible for forecasting and trading more than £410bn of energy for EDF UK’s generation and supply business. The team is responsible for reporting on the commercial performance of the Portfolio Operations team and utilising the data/insight to drive performance improvements.

What you’ll be doing


You’ll maintain the suite of pipelines/tools required by the Curve Trading Performance & Insight team to report on the commercial performance of the department.  


You will develop high-quality models, tools, and data solutions within best practice guidelines to drive new insights as required by the Curve Trading Performance & Insight team.


As a Data Engineer, you’ll lead and design new solutions liaising with key stakeholders across the EDF business to implement changes and leverage new technologies to improve efficiency and insight.


Who you are


We’re looking for somebody with strong proficiency in SQL and Python and experience in managing data pipelines.


You will have experience working with Snowflake and Matillion, leveraging these tools to design, build and optimise data pipelines and workflows.


Beyond the technical ability, we’re looking for somebody who can think commercially, understanding the broader business impact of data solutions and delivering insights that drive value. Excellent collaboration skills are essential, as this role involves working closely with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams across the business.
