Join EDF as a Customer Operations Senior Finance Analyst and you’ll work alongside the Customers business to drive cost management and reduction across the Customer Operations business.


You will have the opportunity to support, challenge and advise on strategic and operational decision-making related to cost which results in higher, sustainable EBITDA and cash. You will sit at the heart of all key decisions impacting operating costs, making a significant positive impact on performance and helping the operational business to deliver its strategic and financial cost targets.

The opportunity…

 

As a Senior Analyst in the team you will be responsible for forecasting and planning, where you will be working with Operational Business Partners to produce monthly rolling forecasts. You will also need to help deliver the Medium Term Plan (MTP) by developing robust future plans in partnership with the business, as well as developing challenging but achievable budgets and forecasts. In addition to this, you’d also be expected to support the Anaplan rolling forecast implementation and play an active role in ensuring this is fit for purpose and fully utilised going forward.


You will also be responsible for internal and external reporting, ensuring on a monthly basis that costs are reported accurately to an appropriate materiality threshold. You will be required to control the consistency of the accounting treatment of items across the various finance teams/business. Feeding into industry responses, such as BEIS and Ofgem consultations, collating inputs as required and providing inputs into the segmentation of the Customer Operations cost base that enable EDF to report accurate segmented results. 


We’re looking for a diligent and enthusiastic individual to support with month end activity by updating, supporting and challenging key stakeholders on financial performance and answering detailed queries on costs for the Reporting team. In addition, creating accurate and insightful key MI for Senior Operational business partners is essential whilst ensuring the numbers and messaging align. Finally, a key requirement would be to ensure costs track to plan and that potential cost risks or opportunities are identified before working with business partners across Customer Operations in order to try and mitigate or realise. 


What we’re looking for…


You will be a Senior finance professional with previous experience of working in a Finance function of a comparable organisation. Holding an accounting qualification or being part-qualified is very much desirable.


Being analytical with the ability to assimilate information quickly and interpret the “so what” is key and possessing a strong commercial acumen. You will ideally have experience of working with imperfect systems and data and have advanced skills with Microsoft packages including Excel and PowerPoint. 


Possessing strong organisational and prioritisation skills, working both independently and part of a team. You will be resilient to change and challenge and have a thirst for knowledge and a natural curiosity. Able to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
