Join Our Team as a Configuration Planning Lead!

This role is all about driving consistency and excellence in Configuration Management (CM) across the project. You’ll drive success by executing well-planned, consistent, repeatable processes to be applied effectively across all CM functions. This includes planning and identification through to change control arrangements, status tracking, and audits.

You'll ensure these processes are documented in the overarching Configuration Management Plan, with a focus on driving practical, continuous improvement throughout every phase of the project.

The Role

In this role you'll dive into diverse areas, connecting with stakeholders to ensure project-wide awareness and implementation of our Configuration Management arrangements. You’ll tackle emerging risks head-on, breaking down complexities and creating pragmatic solutions that keep the project moving forward.

As the Configuration Planning Lead, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to shape Configuration Management strategies and tailor the overarching Configuration Management Plan. By collaborating across teams, you’ll help to shape and refine the project’s technical baseline as a part of Sizewell C’s technical journey.

What You’ll Do:

•    Tailor and implement the Overarching Configuration Management Plan to ensure effective CM strategies, policies, and procedures are applied throughout the project.
•    Apply CM functions at each stage of the project lifecycle to maintain consistency and efficiency.
•    Provide CM training to ensure all stakeholders understand their roles, responsibilities and key dependencies.
•    Develop CM performance measures to drive continuous improvement.
•    Ensure CM performance within the supply chain through proper insight and oversight.

•    Support the integration of product configuration information processes across the project.
•    Establish Configuration Status Reporting to provide clear, data-backed reports for management decision-making.
•    Collaborate on CM data management to ensure accurate recording of Configuration Items using the right tools.

•    Excellent Communication Skills: You engage with stakeholders effectively and foster alignment across teams.
•    Collaborative Nature: You thrive in team environments, working seamlessly to achieve shared goals.

The Skills

•    Knowledge of Configuration Management standards (such as ISO 10007, EIA 649, GEIA-HB-649).
•    Capable of defining Configuration Management polices, plans and procedures pragmatically tailored to the projects needs.
•    Skilled in interpreting and implementing engineering procedures.
•    General professional qualities such as accuracy, tenacity, result-oriented and teamwork-oriented attitude, and diplomacy.
•    Ability to work independently, be pro-active, report on and escalate relevant issues.
•    Good communication/interpersonal skills.
•    Excellent written communication.
•    An understanding of engineering within large scale infrastructure projects.

Desirable

•    In-depth knowledge of Configuration Management standards and guidance.

Sizewell C Limited (Sizewell C) is nuclear site licensed company whose business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Sizewell C was formerly under the majority ownership of the EDF Group but is currently majority owned by HM Government and operates as an independent company. EDF remains a key shareholder in Sizewell C and the business therefore maintains close links to EDF as a part of its ‘nuclear family’.

As a Sizewell C employee, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email, or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.
