The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. 
 
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Supply Chain Lead within the Supply Chain at Sizewell C (SZC). 

 

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.   

 


The Role 

 

 

You’ll act as the primary point of contact for all Contract Management matters relating to a supplier/contract assigned to them. 


You’ll work closely and pro-actively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. This includes working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within a technically complex Programme.


You’ll also promote the SZC Project, its values and behaviours and ensures that SZC Project requirements are met and successfully delivered.


Always having the knowledge and being responsible for the regular reporting of topics including contract scope of work/services; schedule; prices and rates; key personnel; and incentive arrangements.


You’ll be managing the contract commercial relationship providing support to the Project Manager to ensure effective delivery of the contract. 

 

You’ll establish effective collaborative arrangements and work in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation to achieve ‘win-win’ equitable commercial outcomes.

 

 

The Skills 


 

You’ll have proven ability of working within a complex major project/programme environment in both procurement and post-procurement phases.

 

You’ll have successfully undertaking administering of complex contracts.

 

Effective Management and Leadership skills, with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies in the UK environment.

 

Honed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on complex matters (considering technical and commercial topics) of high financial value.

 

You'll have a good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management and excellent negotiating, influencing and communication skills.

 

Experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.

 

Experience of standard forms of contract (NEC and FIDIC) within the power/construction industry on complex major projects/programmes

 

You’ll be a member of RICS/ICE/CICES/IOB or equivalent professional body.
