The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. 
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Lead to work within the Conventional Island programme including support to Nuclear Island (Mechanical Electrical HVAC, MEH) Programme, for the development of the scope, delivery and contracting arrangements of the Sizewell C MEH Works. 


Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.   


The Role 



You’ll be the primary point of assurance on the contracts assigned to you and you’ll be empowered to make decisions around the principal accountability areas, under the overall guidance of the Senior Commercial Lead and in accordance with delegated levels of authority.


You’ll be reporting to the Head of Commercial within the MEH division and be primarily responsible for the procurement assurance for the MEH Alliance subcontracts and self-performed activity. 


You’ll have direct involvement in procurement activity and processes as well as leading on providing assurance and oversight across the Alliance. 
In addition, duties may involve commercial and contract management of multiple supply contracts. 

You’ll work closely and pro-actively with the other stakeholders at all levels and across all the teams within Sizewell C to ensure that the requirements of the individual contracts and their impact upon the overall Sizewell C Project are successfully delivered. 


The Skills 

You’ll have the skills to procure and manage contracts, communicate with internal and external stakeholders and adhere to Sizewell C’s processes and procedures effectively and efficiently.


You’ll have procurement experience, in MEH, infrastructure/ manufacturing would be desirable.


You’ll be able to demonstrate a track record of administering successful contracts with knowledge of best practices.


Excellent negotiating, influencing and communication skills.


You’ll have a great understanding of contract performance measurements, risk management and change management.


It would be great if you have experience of administering the FIDIC suite of contracts and are familiar with the nuclear site licence conditions.

Be a member of a professional Chartership (RICS, CIOB or equivalent)
