Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.
Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

The Opportunity

Sizewell C is on the brink of transforming the UK’s energy landscape with its ambitious nuclear power project—and we’re looking for an Assistant Treasurer for Debt to join our Treasury team. This role isn’t just about managing numbers; it’s about managing a new financing model for Sizewell C and the entire nuclear industry!
Why This Role Matters
In this groundbreaking position, you’ll manage Sizewell C’s debt arrangements—an estimated £40bn loan through the National Wealth Fund (NWF) and an export credit facility of up to £5.2bn. You’ll oversee debt covenants within an innovative Regulated Asset Base (RAB) funding model, providing assurance and navigating uncharted waters in nuclear finance.
What You’ll Do
Manage the Debt: Take the lead in managing Sizewell C’s debt arrangements understanding the full financing structure and establishing key relationships with major lenders.
Educate and Influence: Act as a trusted advisor across the business, explaining complex financing arrangements and the RAB model to stakeholders at all levels.
Champion Debt Compliance: Build and embed financial practices, assurance processes, and compliance protocols to ensure smooth debt management.
Report to Leadership: Provide clear and timely updates on debt compliance and risk to Sizewell C's executive team and Board.
Foster Strategic Partnerships: Develop strong relationships with the NWF, government entities, lending banks, and key stakeholders to support Sizewell C’s long-term financing strategy.
Prepare for Financial Milestones: Work towards the successful financial close of the project, ensuring covenant adherence, debt drawdowns, and regulatory compliance.
About You
This role is ideal for a qualified finance professional who thrives on relationship-building and enjoys navigating complex financial landscapes. You’ll bring:
A relevant qualification in corporate treasury, finance, or accounting.
Experience with debt arrangements, ideally within project finance, regulated utilities, or common terms structures.
Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex financial information with clarity.
Resilience and a proactive approach to managing multiple high-stakes projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong grasp of financial models and structures.

* Sizewell C Limited will be moving offices from 90 Whitfield Street to 25 Copthall Avenue.
25 Copthall Avenue is a modern building just a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Sizewell C will occupy the whole of the 4th floor. We are targeting a move in February 2025.
This role will be contractually based at 25 Copthall Avenue. However, depending on the date of the move there may be a period that you will be required to work temporarily from our existing office at 90 Whitfield Street.
