Opportunity…


 
This is an opportunity for you to join the expanding Supply Chain at Sizewell C as an Assistant Commercial Manager and be part of our mission in helping Britain achieve net zero. SZC is a Nuclear New Build project where when completed, will provide low carbon electricity for 6 million homes for 60 years in the UK. The SZC project has obtained planning approval and is seeking financing with a view to start construction in 2024. 

 

You’ll be supporting Project Managers and the wider Programme Delivery teams by providing the highest standards of Commercial Management for Site Establishment and Off-Site Infrastructure activities. 

 

You’ll be engaging closely with Project Managers, Finance and Project controls to manage costs through NEC contracts and in accordance with Sizewell C’s Acquire Goods and Services (AGS) processes and procedures.

 

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
 

 


What you’ll be doing…

 

 
As an Assistant Commercial Manager you’ll be ensuring all Principal Accountabilities for the contract commercial team are implemented in accordance with commercial procedures.

 

You’ll also be supporting the management of a key scope of work in the commercial management of contracts and claims across a suite of NEC and/or FIDIC based contracts.

 

Also, you’ll be reporting and providing support to a Senior Commercial Manager or Supply Chain Lead.

 

Helping to provide the commercial management support of contracts during the execution phase (post award) to maximise operational and financial performance and minimise commercial risk.

 

 

Who you are…  

 


You’ll have NEC contract experience.

 

You’ll have previous effective Supply Chain Management and leadership skills and experience.

 

You’ll be politically astute and experienced in working in dynamic, matrixed structures.

 

We are looking for someone that can demonstrate understanding of supply chain requirements within a regulated environment.

 

Strong interpersonal skills – the post holder must be seen as an in-house expert who is respected for their ability to communicate and influence supply chain outcomes.
