(SZC) Business Admin Apprentice

Sizewell C. The power of good for Britain.

The Opportunity

If you are looking to kick start a career that is rewarding, where you can really make a difference, then come join our Business Admin Apprenticeship. You will work on one of the most exciting and significant sustainable energy projects that our country has ever seen, being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.

We’re recruiting for apprentices to join our Business Admin training programme, working as part of some of the most exciting projects at EDF.

Here at EDF you’ll support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal or external customers. With a focus on adding value, your role contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required will allow you to develop a wide range of skills.

This 2-year apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a Level 3 Business Administration Advanced qualification whilst spending time in different departments of the team. You’ll experience a variety of roles that will help you develop a wide range of transferable business skills that will set you up for your future career.

What we’re looking for

  • Five GCSEs in the A* to C or 9 to 4 range including English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.
  • A genuine interest in the energy industry and a passion for sustainability and being a part of making a difference.
  • We will need you to be open minded, flexible and have an agile way of thinking to succeed in a dynamic fast paced project environment.
  • Having a strategic mindset that brings innovative ideas.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are key, as well as being able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity, humility, and character.
  • Effective communication skills will be required to manage your stakeholders whilst prioritising competing demands.

You will need to meet the requirements for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Power in Diversity

Sizewell C is a great place to work. Our ambition is to have a workforce which reflects and benefits the society we are part of and serve. By valuing the different points of view and experiences that having a diverse team brings, and by fostering an inclusive climate, we will create a great place to work. This aligns to our key values:

Respect: Value the rules and environment in which we operate
Positivity: Positively challenge poor quality and performance
Humility: Be open to other’s points of view and ideas, be willing to debate and to compromise
Solidarity: One team, working closely together and helping each other
Clarity: Communicate clearly and consistently

Competitive Salary And Benefits

We’re dedicated to offering flexible benefits that support our people across all aspects of their lives and we’re delighted to offer a range of benefits to support our employees’ physical, emotional and financial wellbeing.

In addition to a competitive salary of £23,750, we offer a market-leading company pension scheme, 28 days paid holidays and a range of flexible benefits, such as: a company incentive bonus plan, health cover, cycle to work scheme, discounts and employee pricing.

Sizewell C Limited (Sizewell C) is nuclear site licensed company whose business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Sizewell C was formerly under the majority ownership of the EDF Group but is currently majority owned by HM Government and operates as an independent company. EDF remains a key shareholder in Sizewell C and the business therefore maintains close links to EDF as a part of its ‘nuclear family’.

As a Sizewell C employee, you may wonder why you are contacted by colleagues with an EDF email or see the EDF logo on portals that you access and/or documentation you receive; this is because we have partnered with EDF for the provision of a number of support services whilst we complete a successful transition out of the EDF group.
