An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join and enhance our Scotland South Team as a Wind Turbine Technician during a period of consistent growth and exciting future developments.

The position is based at Livingston Service Centre, EH54 9BU, and we are looking for a team member that lives within commuting distance.

What you’ll be doing
As a Wind Turbine Technician in our South Scotland team based out of Livingston, every day is different and provides a real opportunity to make a difference in our ambition to help the UK achieve Net Zero.
You’ll work across multiple assets (predominantly GE MW platforms but will also include Senvion & Vestas) to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services to our onshore wind turbine projects.
Day to day:
- Schedule service in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines
- Reporting on maintenance activities
- Ensure spare part and consumable stock levels are maintained.
- Fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major components
- Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime
- Complying with all health and safety requirements including the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR)
- Providing out of hours and weekend response to site breakdowns
- Ensuring the highest level of turbine availability
What do you need to be great at this role?
You’ll be a time served Engineer (electrical/mechanical/hydraulic) with a primary focus on ensuring operations and maintenance activities are undertaken to the highest levels you’ll ideally hold a AT/AE qualification under Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) and have significant technical expertise gained through a blend of academic (Electrical or Mechanical NVQ/HNC/HND) and “hands on” operational environments.
We are looking for a strong safety-minded person with excellent analytical thinking, be a self-starter. This role requires a strong technical prowess.
Equally important is a genuine enjoyment and enthusiasm for working in this field.
To be successful in this role you will hold a qualification in an electrical and/or mechanical discipline to NVQ3 level (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience).
You will have an excellent understanding of health and safety practices, rules and regulation as well as accreditation or previous accreditation as an Authorising Technician (AT) / Authorising Engineer (AE) under WTSR.
You must have a full, clean UK Driving Licence and lives within a commutable distance of our Livingston Service Centre. EH54 9BU.
