Senior Marketing Executive

The Opportunity

As a Senior Marketing Executive will help drive delivery of the overall I&C (Industrial and Commercial) Marketing plan. Working with both internal and external stakeholders, you will deliver marketing plans and activity to agreed timescales and budgets, promoting our offerings to industrial and commercial customers and channel partners. You will also be responsible for creating innovative ideas and engaging communications across various channels.
The I&C Marketing team produce high quality content, communications and events which demonstrate EDF’s leadership of the energy change, understanding of the energy landscape and the impact on customers. The team also promote EDF’s products and services to ensure customers select EDF as their partner of choice. Focussing across key segments and lines of business, activity is tailored for each audience.

Day to Day:


  • Deliver agreed marketing plans on time and within budget with guidance from the I&C marketing manager, supporting the sales teams commercial targets.
  • Create and deliver high quality content for communications and events which engages customers, prospective customers and channel partners in the energy landscape and raises their awareness of the need to proactively manage their energy costs, consumption and carbon footprint. 
  • Work closely with I&C sales teams to understand objectives and challenges to support commercial targets and create content that is aligned with our Net Zero brand purpose and supports the delivery of our I&C strategy. 
  • Create a variety of topics; advising customers on energy market fundamentals, policy and regulatory matters and key processes relating to the purchasing, billing and settlement of their energy consumption, whilst promoting our Net Zero solutions. 
  • Determine the level of detail to be communicated and the translation of technical jargon into clear and appropriate language, depending on the audience through taking ownership of the communication style and tone of voice for each customer segment.
  • Work within the digital and social media guidelines, ensuring all customer marketing activities meet the appropriate standards whilst working with external agencies to support delivery of marketing plans.

The Role


Within this role will be fully empowered to make Commercial recommendations, in consultation with relevant stakeholders. You will also be expected to engage with senior stakeholders, escalating where necessary and presenting clear and concise information. Whilst working within the brand and communications guidelines at all times. You will have experience in writing copy for various audiences and channels and creating content for web, social media, webinars and events.

The Skills

To be successful within your application, we will be looking for an individual who has experience within a driven sales & marketing environment and has an understanding of the energy and the retail industry.  We will also be looking for:

  • An individual who is educated to degree standard or has demonstrated ability to the same level delivered in a working environment. 
  • An Individual who has knowledge of business energy supply and export markets (or comparative industry), including energy and non-energy cost drivers and policy issues that impact EDF’s customer base.
  • Background knowledge of issues which drive performance of large businesses (UK PLC) particularly in relation to corporate and social responsibility, sustainability and low carbon energy and energy efficiency trends.
