You will prioritise investments and expose data assets and environments to create customer value and competitive advantage through access and capabilities.  This overall platform will enable sister teams Data Science, Business Intelligence and CRM to access, transform and analyse data for a range of use cases as well as a wide community of Analysts based in the various Customers Business Units.

You will develop the Customers data platform strategy in collaboration with a team of cloud architects, infrastructure and data engineers, and end users across analytical, reporting and operational functions.  You will also develop the plans which will deliver the strategy and to ensure that the platforms adds the maximum value. You will iterate and create new plans in line with evolving financial, reputational and regulatory objectives.

The data environments you will be responsible for include the Customers Data Lake, Snowflake/Data Warehouse, the Customers Analytics Zone (CAZ).  You will also be responsible for provisioning appropriate tooling to manage, transform and analyse data, the ingestion and management of internal and external source data – including quality and completeness, and the design and maintenance of enterprise data models.

Your primary stakeholders will include the Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Customer Operations, Director of BC&IT and numerous Directors and Heads Of across the Customers business. Critical to the success of the role will be the ability to balance the demands of these stakeholders with the requirement to deliver an ambitious Data Platforms Strategy and Plan that works for the whole of the Customers Business.

You will lead a team comprised of DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Architects and product managers who will own and develop the environments, tooling and data assets mentioned above.
