Senior Data Analyst

Senior Data Analyst – 9 Month Fixed Term Contract
 

Our purpose is to help our customers achieve the transition to net zero and we’re making exciting changes to our Customers Retail (Residential and SME) business to make this a reality.  

 

The Commercial & Performance team will be the nerve centre of the Retail (Lander) organisation.  Doing amazing things with data will be in our DNA and allow us to sense and surface key insights that both enable our operational teams to deliver outrageously good service and drive our commercial performance.
 

The Opportunity
 

As a Senior/Data Analyst, you will play a key role in transforming EDF’s data and insight provision and enabling the success of the new retail business. You will form part of a multi-skilled team of Data Analysts driving the delivery of new data products and insights.
 

This role will provide great opportunity for growth and development with scope to be aligned to key data products as well as develop new skills and expertise by working on different products.

For reference - our data ‘products’ are likely to include (but not be limited to):
 

  • Pricing – Tools to enable effective pricing setting / strategy, management and load into Kraken
  • Forecasting & Insight – Tools to enable effective account and long-term volume forecasting, feeding our hedging strategy and financial processes
  • Consumption to Cash – Ensuring effective management of our cash and debt positions through enhanced understanding of billed, unbilled, payments and collections
  • Smart – Ensuring we deliver against our targets in an efficient way and unlock the benefits of smart metering for our customers
  • Winning and keeping – Ensuring optimal acquisition activity all the way to live on supply, including channels and campaign performance. Growing the value of our customer base at renewal
  • Service & Query management – Delivering the tools and insights to manage service performance, support effective workforce planning and enable our energy specialists to support our customers
  • Consumption Analytics – Delivering the tools required to effectively analyse consumption and add value for our customers

What you’ll be doing
 

  • Drive the development of our new data products and prioritised requirements in line with our agile delivery processes
  • Contribute to agile ceremonies, including showcases and retrospectives – helping to enable a culture of celebrating success
  • Add commercial and business value through analysis around key performance trends
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for a specific data product / data products working with Product Lead to inform product roadmap
  • Build and maintain and improve self-service dashboards within Tableau ensuring our key stakeholders have access they need to the self-serve analytics required to run their teams
  • Partner with key business areas to ensure data requirements are clear and understood and strong feedback loops are in place
  • Deputise for Product Leads where required on matters relating to data product design and delivery
  • Conduct exploratory and big data analytics to generate actionable insight from our data
  • Develop, test and maintain data science / machine learning models for predictive analysis, e.g. renewal behaviour, debt propensity
