Join us in the key role of CRO Strategist.  We’re offering an opportunity to be part of the transformation of our Customers business into a digitally enabled function, embedding the tools and practices of continuous optimisation into the organisation.

The CRO Consultant will lead the conversion rate optimisation activity for the EDF Energy Customers’ digital channels (website, mobile app, email).  You’ll own all CRO activity driving the planning and execution of channel optimisation activity as well as the development of EDF Energy’s CRO capability including tools and processes.


EDF Energy has ambitious objectives for Digital. Already our principal customer contact and engagement channel, we aim to grow digital’s volume, breadth and quality in line with our ambition to place digital at the centre of all our activity. 

The Person


You’ll have a track record of working within the CRO industry, ideally with experience of coding in CSS and HTML.  You manage projects using reporting and analytics to inform the approach and testing required. You’ll demonstrate your experience of prioritising, managing and delivering on high value business decisions. 


Day to Day:


  • You’ll plan, execute and report on activity around channel optimisation.
  • You’ll create a digital optimisation roadmap and manage web optimisation activity,
  • You’ll working with Service Owners and Product Owners to drive platform development
  • You’ll deploy a programme of insight-based continuous improvement for all digital journeys, demonstrating full use of customer and market insight and segmentation around attitudes & lifestyles as well as digital best practice.
  • You’ll proactively identify & investigate new digital optimisation opportunities, including tools, services, processes and vendors. Use insight to challenge existing practices where benefits are clear.
  • You’ll manage & influence colleagues to move to mature optimisation practices and digital-first thinking.
The Skills


This role is responsible for continuous optimisation of the multichannel digital journeys, ensuring optimal conversion rates for macro and micro conversions, and is accountable for the creation and operation of a CRO capability (including the creation, deployment and improvement of A/B and MVT experiments).





  • An education to degree level, or a demonstration of ability to the same level, delivered in a working environment.
  • Strong digital and / or digital marketing background with experience of managing a roster of internal and external partners to provide consistently high-quality digital optimisation and strong commercial performance
  • Familiarity with principles and processes associated with generating insight, experiments, roadmaps, optimisation, test and learn and reporting, with a strong sense for effectiveness, cost and resource options for all optimisation  methodologies, toolsets and quality requirements
  • Good awareness of digital technologies, platforms, user experience and analytics
  • High level of business and market awareness




  • Professional qualification in technology, science, marketing, digital disciplines
  • Experience of CSS or HTML coding
