EDF Renewables UK (“EDF RUK”) is a joint venture between EDF Energy and EDF Renouvelables.  EDF RUK is responsible for developing, constructing, and operating renewable assets in the UK.  EDF RUK currently operates nearly 800MW of wind energy and storage facilities.  In addition, EDF RUK is seeking to deliver between 50 to 80 MW each year from its own development pipeline or though securing new acquisitions of projects or portfolios capable of delivering growth and value to its Shareholders.  


Job Purpose:


The Accountants are key roles in the EDF RUK Finance Team.  The Accountants will work with their manager and senior accountant to ensure delivery of the EDF RUK Finance team‘s objectives.

Nature and Scope

In the Management Reporting team, the focus will be on


  • Production and provision of management information by liaising with the Business Partnering teams for forecast information and Financial Reporting & Planning team for actual performance
  • The FAM to integrate the forecast financial information with existing actual system data to provide the Financial Reporting & Planning team with the required inputs for the reporting systems (SAP and BOFC)
  • Assisting in the delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting, formal forecasts, medium-term plans and investment surveys information packs.  These are for EDF RUK and external investors
  • Initiating improvements to the management reporting processes to achieve an efficient and effective reporting process.
  • Helping to managing the provision of internal governance, risk and control requirements to quality and time and identification and delivery of improvements in this process.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience

  • Accounting qualification (ACA/ CIMA/ ACCA).  Several years’ experience working in industry.
  • Knowledge of both UK GAAP and IFRS, experience of preparing statutory accounts (if applicable) and the confidence to apply them to practical examples is essential
  • Knowledge of accounting policies, processes and systems.   
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Able to challenge the way things are done and look at ways to make improvements to the business
  • Proficient IT skills (Spreadsheets, database, Visual basic)
  • Knowledge of internal systems (SAP, BOFC)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise conflicting activities and be proactive
  • Act with complete integrity and confidentiality
  • Committed to continuous improvement and development of skills and knowledge
  • Experience of the energy or services industry is desirable.
