Management Accountant

Here at Hartlepool Power Station, we have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Management Accountant to join our Commercial Team. If you enjoy building relationships with key stakeholders, to drive the team forwards to continued success then this might be the role for you!

What you’ll be doing

 

You’ll be responsible for providing an effective financial business planning and reporting service to the Station management team, budget holders, staff, and other EDF teams. You’ll have a wide variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Preparing the monthly financial accounts
  • Providing variance analysis from budget and forecast, identifying any value adding opportunities for trend analysis and commentary to assist forecasting and budgetary requirements
  • Monitoring and completing financial adjustments/journals where necessary
  • Preparing and issuing monthly financial data for use during the monthly accountability meetings held with budget holders
  • Producing monthly and year-end forecasts for approval by the Finance Lead
  • Assisting with audit preparation work to enable timely completion of financial statements
  • Providing a support service to all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions.
  • Ensure continuity by covering for the Finance Lead, ensuring their meetings and tasks proceed without disruption.

 

Who you are

 

We’re looking for you to have strong analytical skills and be computer literate with advanced level knowledge and usage of Microsoft Excel. Experience working in a highly regulated, industrial setting would be desirable. Through your work experience you will have gained a good understanding of the business planning process and budget management. Proven experience of delivering high quality information to tight deadlines is essential. As a minimum, you’ll need an A CIMA or ACCA qualification. Experience working with Stock and salaries would be beneficial, as would SAP knowledge and experience with financial reconciliation.
