Defueling Instructor

 

Hartlepool are looking for our next Defueling Instructor based to join the team on a 24-month, fixed term contract basis at our Hartlepool station. We’re offering a salary of £36,175 - £55,394 that apply with our terms and conditions covered by the EDF Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experiences and qualification.

What You'll Be Doing

 

Your roles and responsibilities for this role will include:

 

  • Producing excellent training, which delivers incremental improvements in the reliability of plant and safety of staff.
  • Enhance training standards and processes in line with international systematic approaches to training.
  • Embedding Human Performance and Operational Experience Feedback within the training organisation and the departments they service.
  • Management and delivery of excellent training and compliance with all local and corporate Key Performance Indicators.
  • Developing and maintaining training materials and training plans.
  • Evaluating training effectiveness and assessing trainees.
  • Liaising closely with line personnel and training committees.
  • Responding to emergent needs and delivering creative solutions.
  • Ensuring full integration and ownership of training results within the line.

Who You Are

 

  • You will possess excellent presentation skills and be familiar with both technical and human aspects of plant operations training.
  • You will have appropriate power station experience and a sound understanding of the design and operation of plant systems within a specialist function, i.e. Operations, Maintenance, and Systems Engineering.
  • You will maintain high standards of personal time management and communication and possess strong influencing skills.
  • An appreciation of internal or external evaluation processes is a key aspect of this role since successful applicants will lead self-evaluations within all aspects of the training department.
  • You will be expected to gain an understanding of the Systematic Approach to Training model and train to Fleet Certified Instructor level and attain NP Leader status.

 

As a minimum, applicants will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent). Candidates with a relevant degree may have an advantage. The successful candidate may be required by the company to undertake a role in the emergency scheme. This may necessitate the individual being on a standby rota.
