Senior Business Improvement and Governance Specialist

The opportunity
You would be joining Nuclear Operations Supply Chain Business Improvement and Governance Team. You’ll be responsible for enhancing supply chain processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring performance, including robust risk management and resilience, across all supply chain activities. This role requires a skilled professional who excels in developing relationships and leading improvement and change to promote best practices to own and deliver strategic business goals.
As part of this role you will set, direct, and oversee nuclear supply chain standards and processes to ensure and assure performance. You will challenge, problem solve and improve our arrangements via a structured approach and your personal desire to effect continuous improvement.
This role is based in our headquarters in Gloucester, working to a hybrid model with occasional travel around our fleet of nuclear power stations, suppliers and other EDF offices as required.

In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Nuclear Operations Supply Chain Governance & Business Improvement Strategy
- Own and lead initiatives to enhance supply chain processes and practices to improve performance.
- Ensure, test and improve governance application throughout all aspects of the Supply Chain processes to deliver safety, quality, and commercial objectives within civil nuclear regulatory arrangements
- Own guidance and provide a best-in-class service to the Nuclear Operations business on the effective use of Supply Chain processes.
- Oversee supply chain governance, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Risk and Resilience: Enhance the resilience of the supply chain by developing improvement initiatives across the Nuclear Operations Supply Chain to identify potential risks and ensure business continuity
- Co-ordinate the identification and sharing of fleet best practice across all processes and procedures.
- Identify and participate in benchmarking activities to identify & share best practice that can be implemented to promote nuclear generation as a "world class" organisation.
- Lead and engage with colleagues across Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, Regulatory, Project Delivery to foster a collaborative environment, facilitate knowledge sharing, and drive alignment on key supply chain strategies and improvements.
- Organise, develop and deliver Supply Chain related training and development.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations for supply chain projects and initiatives.
Who you are
You will be enthusiastic; you will enjoy solving hard problems and coming up with innovative and well considered solutions working on your own and in a team (both functional and cross-functional). You will be keen to improve yourself and grown in the role and take ownership for the growth and development of the supply chain function and our arrangements. For this role, you’ll ideally hold a degree or HNC in a relevant subject and experience within a Supply Chain related role with as good knowledge of processes, preferably within with the nuclear or regulated industry.
You’ll have good project management, problem solving, coordination, and facilitation skills, with an awareness of latest supply chain practices. You’ll be able to influence and manage stakeholders, build relationships, and promote good effective teamwork.
You’ll be someone that runs towards hard problems with great teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
