Location: Gloucester (flexible working arrangements available)
Employment basis: Full time/Part time. Our teams are set up to work flexibly. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can adopt a blended working arrangement.
Salary: Starting from £35,000 depending on experience, plus bonus (up to 5% of annual salary). We also offer a market-leading company pension scheme with a graded company contribution of up to 15% when matched to a personal contribution of to 7.5% of annual salary and a wide range of other benefits.

The Role
The Design Authority (DA), as part of the licensee organisation, is responsible for developing the nuclear safety case and maintaining its integrity throughout the full lifecycle of the nuclear power plant.
As a Safety Case Engineer, you will support the development of the safety case under the guidance of more experienced professionals and provide solutions to challenging issues to support the constructing, commissioning and operation of the new reactors. You will have opportunities to gain experience and work in a variety of different aspects of the safety case from developing the main Safety Report through to safety justification to support design modification. In your role you will be supported by and need to engage with a variety of disciplines within the wider organisation (Nuclear Analysis, PWR Technology, Construction, Commissioning and Operations) as well as the designers/suppliers oversea and internal/external regulators.

Key attributes you will have:
• A motivated, self-starting, dynamic who is able to work with different stakeholders for the development of the safety case;
• Someone who is able to pay attention to details and keen to develop;
• Ability to work on own initiative and apply scientific/technical training to identify and resolve problems;
• Someone with excellent organisation, communication (both written and verbal) skills, who can work autonomously and works well in teams.
There is a comprehensive Safety Case Engineer/Case Officer training programme as well as Behaviour- led Technical Leadership training available to help you bridge knowledge gaps as well as supporting your growth.
