Project Controls Team Lead

Project Controls Team Leader

Do you have excellent business acumen and the ability to use your knowledge to drive effective business actions? Do you challenge the status quo and champion change? Are you able to understand trends and patterns and transform these into ideas and actions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity that may be the role for you!

The Opportunity

After nearly half a century of safe and reliable generation, our Advanced Gas Reactor power stations are now approaching the next phase of the nuclear lifecycle as we prepare for decommissioning. Decommissioning of an AGR power station involves the removal of all the fuel and mobile radioactive wastes, and the dismantling and removal of all plant, equipment, services and buildings from the site outside of the reactors and fuel stringer debris vaults.

Our job is to remove 99% of the hazard from each site, ensuring safe and effective delivery of ‘fuel free’ reactors, ready to be decommissioned. This next phase involves the preparation and delivery of projects and programmes to enable the defueling of each reactor to be undertaken with zero harm, within an average timescale of 3.5 years per station and to maximise value. Once the reactors are fuel free, the journey continues as we work with external stakeholders to achieve a seamless transfer for the long-term deconstruction phase.

The Project Controls Team Leader is responsible for providing data and insights for internal performance management, supporting the Nuclear Decommissioning Client team in their delivery of the AGR Decommissioning plan. This includes monitoring, reporting, analysing and communication of issues and opportunities in delivering the work portfolio. The Project Controls Team Leader will be responsible for the provision of resources, governance and adherence to processes and procedures, method and tools for the timely and accurate response to requirements.
