Procurement Industrial Placement 2022

A career that will deliver change. Together, we can help Britain achieve net zero.

Join our Procurement Industrial Placement programme and you can make an immediate impact, powering the nation today, whilst helping to build a sustainable energy future for tomorrow.

“The placement offers the opportunity to experience a variety of Supply Chain roles and responsibilities in a unique industry, including: procurement and contract management, audits and expediting, and operational experience of nuclear power stations. I benefit from a great support structure to encourage learning, from experienced team members and those previously on the scheme, to dedicated mentors. There’s also the opportunity to learn about the wider business and participate in department and companywide projects and networks, to tailor the overall experience to individual interests and needs”

Rebecca Moss, Supply Chain Specialist (former Industrial Placement student)

The Procurement Industrial Placement Programme:

Join our Procurement Industrial Placement programme and you’ll contribute to EDF’s ambition to help Britain achieve Net Zero, by helping us drive positive social and environmental change throughout our supply chain.

Within our existing Generation fleet of power stations, EDF’s Supply Chain teams are an integral part of a power station’s operation, responsible for the safe and efficient working of up to 1,000 contract personnel during outages. The materials management team runs up to a 24hr warehouse operation and expedites spares deliveries from suppliers to support on-site work.

Training, development and support for you:

Over this 12-month programme, we offer you an opportunity to gain a broad look at the work done by Procurement in a large, complex organisation like ours.  You’ll gain an insight into the operation of a large energy company, the way a business works, the skills required to be successful in a professional career and gain a strong insight into commercial and supply chain management.

For an idea of the type of work you could do, recent students have helped organise supplier conferences, tender, negotiate and place contracts, support strategy updates and work on nuclear power stations supporting supply chain teams during the delivery of major maintenance contracts.

This is a unique chance to divide your year between three/ four of our Supply Chain teams.  The experience will give you a broad look at the work done by Supply Chain in a large, complex organisation like ours.  The experience gained during the placement will provide you with an insight into the operation of a large utility company, the way a business works, the skills required to be successful in a professional career and gain a strong insight into commercial and supplier/supply chain management.
